Our New Location!

Thanks to everyone who attended our Planning Session on Wed, 2/13, and to all those who submitted their ideas by phone or email.  A new site has been selected for holding Merging Hearts activities starting in March of 2008!   We have accepted a very generous invitation from the New Vision United Church of Christ to continue our meditations and meetings at their wonderful building!  This progressive and life-affirming church is located at 3129 Market Ave N, Canton, OH 44714.  See the map below.  A special thanks to Rev. Gene Kraus and the UCC Board for extending their gracious invitation to Merging Hearts!

Making Plans for the Future!

We held a "business" meeting on Wed, Feb 27, at 8:00 pm at the Fieldcrest Lodge to discuss various issues with creating our own non-profit organization.  We focused on our mission statement, bylaws, liability insurance, and the selection of leaders and committee chairs.  If you are interested in contributing your expertise in legal, accounting, or non-profit issues, please let us know!  If you would like to take on a leadership role in Merging Hearts or help in any way, please join us!

As we move into our next stage of development, we are co-creating, along with the Universe, a space that will allow us to provide many services to the public:

  • Offer energy body work, like massage and reiki services,
  • Conduct classes, such as yoga and Tai Chi,
  • Hold meditation sessions, drum circles, chanting, and spiritual discussion groups,
  • Offer workshops on alternative medicine, spiritual development, healthy foods and sustainable living.

Suggestions will continue to be explored for a permanent site.  Some ideas being considered include an historic building in the Arts District in downtown Canton, renovating a current facility within Stark County, or erecting a new building on a quiet lot out in nature.  If you have ideas for a possible site, know of funding opportunities, or can suggest a winning partnership, please contact Jeanne Grimes using the "Contact Us" page.  Email us if you would like to get involved!
