Mission Statement

To expand the Mind-Body-Spirit connection to our MHHC internal community for those in need of emotional and/or physical support and to our external community by providing outreach services limited in scope only by our members’ abilities and/or our resources.
   

Outreach Defined

  • A systematic attempt to provide services beyond conventional limits, as to particular segments of a community.

  • An effort by individuals in an organization or group to connect its ideas or practices to the efforts of other organizations, groups,

    specific audiences or the general public.

  • The act of reaching out to another. The act or practice of visiting and providing the services (of a charity or other organization) to

    people who might not otherwise have access to those services.

  • The ability to reach large numbers of people, especially the very poor and less advantaged, with quality emotional and/or physical support.

We are asking for your support on 3 projects: You can bring donations for the Akron-Canton Food Bank and Reentry Bridge Network with you to any scheduled event or just drop them off at MHHC 5590 Lauby Rd., N Canton, OH 44720 15 minutes before the start of any scheduled event (Check our calendar), so as not to interrupt meditations or classes. We are not directly collecting for Haiti at this time. Please donate money or supplies through the organization of your choice (Red Cross, YMCA, others). Thank you for your kind help!

    There is an urgent need for the following items:
Most Urgent Needs:
Large 5 gallon buckets with lids
Blankets
Sheets - used or new
Mats to lay on
Drapes
Bottled water
Non-perishable foods
Sandals or flip-flops
Toiletry sacks (containing a washcloth, soap, tooth brush, tooth paste, deodorant)
Large T-shirts
Small tents
Gauze - any size, but preferably 4X4
Dressings - sterile and unsterile
(Coban, Tegaderm, Steri-strip, Surgilast)
Sutures
Neosporin or triple antibiotic ointment
Ace bandages (or anything specifically for wound care)
Ibuprofen
Oral rehydration salts
Betadine wipes and sticks


Other Items Needed (Medications):

Diclofenac - (injection and oral)
Tylenol
Motrin
Multivitamins (children and adult)
Zantac
Benadryl
Hypertension medications
Blood pressure medications
Cough medications
Anti-diarrheal
Antibiotics
Lidocaine

  • Reentry Bridge Network (RBN) book donations
Books you would like to donate to the RBN Center can be dropped off at MHHC or at the the RBN Center which is located in the Goodwill Campus, 408 Ninth St SW, Canton, OH 44707 - 2nd Floor Suite 2280
